In Pakistan, a constitution is the supreme law of the country. It is the fundamental document that describes the fundamental law of the country, the government, and the relationship between the two. It is usually a written document that is enacted by the elected representatives of the people and subsequently approved by the majority of the people.
The Constitution of Pakistan was first written in 1956 and has since been amended in 1974, 1988, 1993, 1996, 2001, 2005, 2011, and 2015. The latest amendment, known as the 17th Amendment, was adopted in 2016. The Constitution is divided into six parts: the preamble, the foundation, the rights, the powers, the responsibilities, and the amendments.
